Listawood mug quality issues ...

I've always been more than pleased with Listawood mugs. I buy the AAA mugs which cost a little more but are supposed to have all been checked for quality.

However ..

The last few boxes I have received have been below par. Don't get me wrong, there are no MAJOR issues with them, but seeing as they are advertised as AA quality and checked, then even minor defects should have been picked up.

This is the sort of thing I'm getting ...

These are all scratches in the glaze and detract from the final product. Maybe I'm nit-picking, I don't know, which is why I haven't taken the issue up with Listawood yet. I'd like your opinions on these faults as well as your opinion on whether you think the Xpres 5013 mugs are better quality.

Another annoying thing with Listawood mugs is that, although they are superbly dishwasher-proof, they stain badly inside. I like to drink black tea and cheap Chinese mugs I printed years ago have never stained whereas the Listawood ones do after a short while.

Any thoughts on all of this, or am I being unreasonable?

In my opinion these are seconds. We wouldn't use them for any client. XP5013 all the way chap.

They look like the cheaper A mugs to me. We had a run of those, 22 arrived damaged or badly marked, won't use them again, XP5013, printed thousands and can honestly say I've not had one broken or one reject. Listawood are very good at sending out replacements so just send them pics of the rejects and they'll sort for you.

We've been getting this type of thing for the last few deliveries of the AAA mugs from Listawood. They are good at replacing but it is time consuming having to check every mug for defects and even more annoying when we spot it after we've already sublimated onto them.
We've stuck with them so far because we feel that they have performed much better than some we've used in the past as far as being dishwasher safe, but maybe it's time to try the XP5013's.

Yep, as Justin say's above, we moved over to the XP5013 about 2 years ago after advice on here and would not use another mug at all now.

In the interests of balance, here is my pile of reject XP5013 mugs from yesterday. All have either chips at the bottom, rough coating drips, or a chip of ceramic welded to the underside of the mug which would scratch a nice new oak table.

Thanks for all the replies folks. Looks like I'll be swapping over to the 5013's from Xpres pretty soon.

My main bugbear with Listawood is they are charging a premium for a service that hasn't been carried out (ie. checking all the mugs in a box of AAA's for defects). My 10% saving by using my DSF discount has been negated by the mugs I've been unable to use (I'll keep them for friends, family and experimental use though).

[Edit: Just posted this then saw Gary's post above! So, have we all got different standards as to what is 'acceptable' to send to customers?]

have you spoken to Xpres about these? I find this incredible, having been through so many and never had any issue at all. Believe me, if someone was going to get poor stock it would be me! lol.
