Think the rise is about 40p (ish) on the super premium range. Still work out cheaper than lots of other suppliers though.

There was a recent thread on here about MDP 'screwing up' garments into packages, rather than folding them correctly, so they arrived in an unusable state. They had responded that they were investing in special cages for storage so this would not occur again. I guess they are just getting some of that investment back by hiking up the prices.

I never clocked the prices of the hoodies.

Whilst I agree it would be good for all suppliers to notify customers of price increases, you'll be lucky to find any supplier who hasn't raised the price.

All the employees in those clothing factories, from the toilet cleaner right up to senior managers all have increased living costs, which are reflected in their annual pay rises. Likewise all the folks in the distribution chain also have increased costs, that have to get passed on further along the line. Price increases are inevitable, but the end user - the garment decorators, appear to be a lot more sensitive to increasing their own prices to reflect those higher production costs.

It's a discussion point. Just because we have to do it doesn't mean we should like it or shouldn't comment on it. Of course we are sensitiive about raising prices, that in itself can lead to less business and the eventual demise of any of our livelihoods. We have to try and ride the storm, but it's still a valid discussion point.

Its happening with the three garment suppliers I use, last October/November I had emails from all three informing of the forthcoming price rises, they say partly due to the recent floods in Pakistan and the cost of the cotton...... :-(
