Re: Hi people!! Could any of you help? Mug printing business

Post by Joelbell1994 »

Hi I am wanting to start a mug printing business online. I have looked into this for a while now and really think I should give it a go and hopefully be successful. Could any point me in the right direction please as I need to know what equipment I need and also the ins and outs of the business. But the knowledge of knowing which equipment to get would be great please . Thanks to anyone who is willing to help.

I would love to help you but your best bet would be to grab a large coffee and have a good look through the forum and gather some information, then post again once you have some ideas. You say that you have been thinking about it for a while. What research have you done so far? I am sorry if this sounds harsh but all the information is on the site and has been asked a hundred times before. Also if you click on one of the banners from the advertisers they all have starter kits and a wealth of information.
Many thanks
Iain

Equipment used A4 Ricoh printer, HP3085 Heat Press Graphtec cutter, Jarin mug press, CJV 30-60 solvent printer and lots of help from DSF.

Hi you dont sound harsh at all mate. I have my ideas I want to set a mug business up with my own designs. I have loads of pictures/ideas ready print on them what I think would be good sell. But Its mainly the equipment I need to know like i don't want to buy no poor equipment. Also what would be the best site to recommend to start selling on.

Yeah. There's a LOT you need to know and we'll help with any questions you have once you've trawled through the forum. You see, what's happened on many occasions is that a new member comes in asking for help and other members spend a lot of their time answering only for the original poster to never post again! For this reason I rarely help anyone until they have made more than one or two posts. No reflection on you, it's just my preference.

I am sure there are many issues with the 5 mug presses. Look at posts about Halogen ovens.

It would be wise to start small rather than presume demand from day one would be a daily order of +300 mugs (only reason you would need to do 5 mugs at same time). As webtrekker says head to some suppliers who advertise on this forum. They will provide a decent kit for under £1000 which will dip your toe in the water. This isn’t the same as digitally printing a photo to a printer mind and a decent printed mug comes from 50% equipment and 50% knowledge.
