some of the advertisers give their contact details in their adverts which makes me think the "contact seller" button might not be as useful as it should be, I also wonder if people just sell the stuff the old fashioned way - Ebay Gumtree etc, and so those adverts might not be up to date. It is a great idea from Ralawise, but not that widely known about.

Never used them, but you are buying direct from the seller, not Ralawise. I assume there is no guarantee that the seller has updated the listing if and when the item is sold.
I also assume that the sellers fall mainly into two catagories - either people getting out of the business/downsizing or people who were disatisfied with the trade-in price offered when upgrading. A lot of the prices seem to be more than you would want to pay, when considering there is no dealer warrenty.
If I were to buy from them I would want to see the item up close and working. Treat it like buying a used car - kick the tyres, ask plenty of questions and accept the fact that you could end up getting a wrong'un.

Tried once to contact a seller about an item and never got a response. Never contacted anyone else since as I think the same adverts are recycled every now and then.
If it's wide format you are after there are better secondhand sites around.

I would recommend GRANTHAMS for service and top notch secondhand machines backed up by a company who know their stuff. The other is Sign Making and Supplies who have a lot of machines and appear to stack them high sell em cheap.Hi Simon do you know any good re sellers sell used printers .Even large format ..Thanks
Both list their machines on their sites.
Two things to note:
Always wait until after the big shows such as The Sign Show, that is when companies tend to upgrade and a glut of used machines come on to the market.
Secondly, be careful of some of the really old machines particularly Mimaki, they are using old ink sets which smell and will be redundant soon without the ability for you to switch the ink set.
