I am going nuts here!
I have 4 new mug designs and set about printing them. 3 came out perfectly but one of them, which should have been blue and white, printed only in black.
I tried on my other Ricoh with the same result. I reprinted one of the others and it was fine.
Next I reproduced the black/blue one as a PNG (formerly a JPEG) - still came out in black!
I printed it on one of my Canons on plain paper and it printed perfectly.
This has me totally baffled as the same settings were used every time.
Any suggestions would be welcomed.
Thanks,
Ray

Have you printed anything since this one came out black? It almost sounds like you've accidentally clicked a box somewhere.

Hi Justin,
Yes, I printed further copies of the other designs and at no stage changed any settings. In other words, all of them were printed with exactly the same settings! It looks like a case of Deus ex machina!

Re: Weird Prining Issue!
Were the mug designs printed from separate saved design files i.e. each printed separately on separate sheets of paper or all printed from one file / document on to a single sheet of paper?
Do you have a photo of the print on paper and a photo of the artwork on screen?
Quite baffled myself to be honest...

Re: Weird Prining Issue!
might this design contain both RGB and cmyk ?
copy and past the whole thing into a new RGB file and try again.
also, suggest loking at levels histogram, sometimes a colour range has been stretched, so you get a toast rack graph instead of a nice curve, - can look fine on screen but print funny!

Re: Weird Prining Issue!
I'm sorry to be so tardy in replying - other things cropped up!
We resolved the issue by adjusting the blue in the image to a sky blue which meant that the finished article came out in the deep Royal Blue that we wanted.
It seems that what I thought was black was, in fact, a very dark blue indistinguishable from black!
As all other designs print OK it seems silly to try to adjust settings.
I'm using Adobe Elements 12 by the way.
Thanks for the replies,
Ray
