Oven temperature controls are very unreliable. I had some decent results from our old kitchen gas oven set between mark 4 and 5, with a time of 10 minutes.
Make sure the silicone wrap doesn't wrinkle at the bottom when resting on the cooker wire grill, as this will give a faded print at the base of the mug due to small air gaps caused by the wrinkling.

I did the mugs upside down so the bottoms of the mugs were facing upwards. I think they just need maybe a lower temperature and longer time but unsure.
Our oven has a built in thermometer and tells you when it’s pre heated so think the temperature is pretty accurate but could always be wrong I guess as it’s several years old now.

Yeah, experimentation's the name of the game and you have to be prepared to lose some blanks during the early days. I like the image coverage my halogen cooker gives as the base and handle don't act as heatsinks like they do in a press.
