If on a budget try the Epson 7210. You will get A3+ capacity for a reasonable price. Only four colours, but to be honest that is enough for low resolution substrates such as cushions and t-shirts.

P600 package has just been released I believe, I've seen the results and the print is absolutely superb. Ricoh is an option if you want to work with carts but CIS is easy enough.
Justin do you have any recommendations? A3+ size printers

Yes, Epson P600 :-) 1500W is great but price is rocketing and getting close the P600 anyway.

P800 + refill carts + inktec sublinova ink and custom ICC profile = sublimation.

Indeed they were, the 1500W prices towards the end were getting rather silly. I think the price difference for the P600 is worthwhile, the quality is better with the P600 but its the little things such as the ability to print roll media, the longer service intervals, the larger cartridge capacity meaning less down time resetting ink cartridges all make it worth while.

Another thing I found recently with the P600 was the drivers allow for lots of adjustment to the printer. For example, with the hot weather we have been having I have found our high release paper is curling quite badly and when printing in the P600 the ink was causing the paper to wrinkle as it printed. The wrinkling caused the paper to bulge up and the printing head caught the paper scratching the ink. I found in the driver that the paper thickness and paper platten could be increased we increase the paper platten gap from 0.3mm to 0.5mm and this solved the issue immediately. This is something the 1500W and other lower end printers can't do. Its a tiny thing but it meant I could print on a day that normally I would have had to shut down printing.

Yes P800 is the A2 version of the P600, in theory the same ink can be used. You would just need to source refillable cartridges and get a custom ICC profile made for it.

Absolutely! I may well look into offering the P800, we will see how the P600 performs over the next 6 months and go from there.

If you used the same inks in the P800 as the P600 could you not just use the ICC you have for the P600? I thought he only difference between these printers is the size.

Alex.
Yes, possibly, but just because a printer uses the same ink set does not mean that it will process and apply the colours in the same way. In theory yes the P600 ICC would be used with P800 but I couldn't guarantee the results. If I were to start supplying P800 printers I would personally create a specific profile for the setup.

Ideally a new profile is made for each printer model regardless of if it uses the same ink and / or same printing head.

For example - Epson WF7110 and WF7210 are basically identical printers, but we needed to make 2 individual profiles for each printer, same with WF7610 and WF7710 and lots of other 'similar' printers that used the same inks as each other.
