I've never really done much china but customer requested a small run of 72 so happy to have a go :-) Balmoral 13oz.

Done a test print and noticed the image isn't as clear as on my usual ceramic mugs. I seem to remember this may be the case onto China but wanted to check if this was the case?

Otherwise it printed well despite the tapering at the bottom!

Hi Justin

You do find with Bone China that the same image won't be quite as punchy as it would look on a white stoneware mug for example.

This is because the mug body itself is very thin and therefore quite translucent. As a result it doesn't provide such a dense white behind the colours you're printing which reduces their vibrancy slightly.

Also, the thinner body requires a slightly lower cycle time - but my guess is it's the density of the white you're noticing.

Alex.
