Worked for a company with a 4880 and it wasn't useless but I'm sure that was more down to their setup.....I hope!

Inktec inks are superb, ours had Sawgrass inks so I'm sure Inktec would be better suited.

Inl Express would be worth a call as they stock Inktec and may be able to advise further, it depends on the config, was this an 8 colour? If so it could just be run as dual cmyk. I'll tag Ink Express into this thread.

Hi Justin thanks for your reply. I already asked someone at InkExpress and they said they’ve had trouble with blacks as far as I remember. But Inktec does provide an ICC profile for this ink for the 7880. Would this profile work with the 4880 ? I think these 2 printers are exactly the same except the size.

Hi, yes the LK and LLK inks do appear to make the prints very dark when running all 8 Inktec colours, we tried profiling a customers 4880 and it wasn't the best and the results were not as good as say a 1500W or similar printer.

I know a few people running dual CMYK setups and they have no issues at all.

Yes 7880, 4880 are all the same basic printer just different print size capabilities.

I have the ICC we made for the customer running the 8 ink setup should you want to give it a try Malkram, just DM me and I'll email it you.

I don’t have the printer yet. What is the benefit of using dual CMYK ? I mean, in that case the color gamut is limted right ?

Yes using dual CMYK does limit the color gamut, most people run dual CMYK as they run CMYK sublimation and CMYK pigment ink set up so you can use the printer for multiple uses (sublimation and canvas printing for example)

Personally I found the 8 colours to be a hindrance with sublimation as the LK and LLK inks tended to make the prints too dark so CMYK does seem a simpler option (to me)

Ravisteam, you need an ICC profile for 7880 & Inktec (8 colors) ?
