No, you read it right .............. I missed the 'R' out of Christmas .............. just like I did earlier when printing and pressing a mug $*@!!

So, it got me thinking ............ what's the worst spelling mistake, or mistake in general that you guys have done?

And more inmportantly did the customer notice, did you see it before hand and rectify it or even send out something and notice that it was wrong a few days later (and never heard anything since) .............. ??

 should be interesting reading

Oh and to answer first - I printed, pressed and made the mug and then I got it out to show the customer ......... I noticed it !

So, with a face like 'Basil Fawlty' I shouted NO! and explained that the inks were 'acting up again' and if they popped back in 20mins I would have it sorted (and I gave them a free keyring)!

Then, after closing I was looking at 'this' mug and I thought ................... I'd ask you guys!

One of my neighbours had a big argument with his other half & during the argument they smashed all their mugs by throwing them at each other.

He then came across to my house to see if I had any spare mugs he could buy off me & I put 4 in front of him which I had pressed upside down. I said he could have them for free as I would just throw them out be insisted in giving me £5 for them.

I do love the Conde clip on You Tube where the boss presses a T-shirt upside down  Just shows even the experts get it wrong too.

Many moons ago when I worked in the greetings card industry the production department went awfully quiet when someone came in with a sample of the run of 1800 satin padded 15 x 12 inch cards which had just been delivered (and these were cards which even then - and I think we're talking 1978 here - retailed at about £2.50 or £3 each). "Is this the correct spelling of this title?" he asked, pointing to the gold foil script reading "With Love to my Sweatheart at Christmas".

Whenever doing multiple items, I always get the customer to approve the first-off or a sample via email. I could think of nothing worse for the biz than printing 100 mugs or 200 coasters only to have to do them again.

I've had some oddball designs sent from customers to print which I've thought was wrong - punctuation, for example - but they send it, I print it. I've had one in a foreign language which I got Google to translate and I thought "do they really mean that?" But, they sent it, I print it.

For myself, I've occasionally done the "print upside down" trick or forget to turn off "mirror" when doing glass items (or, worse still, leave it off mirror afterwards!). But I usually spot it before it gets sent to the customer.
