Re: Help needed convertiing an AI file to coreldraw x4

Post by John G »

I have a customer that has sent me an AI file which I cannot import into Coreldraw x4.
If anybody is able to do this for me, please send a PM with your email address and i'll email you the file for converting.

It needs to be saved back to Coreldraw x4 which I think is V14 - fonts to curves!

Cheers John

Hi John. Even though the file has a .ai extension, have you tried loading it into CorelDraw as a .pdf?

I've tried opening it in acrobat reader, saving to pdf and tried opening that - that didn't work. It opened in acrobat OK, so I tried to drag/drop into corel, but it effects the quality.

Just try opening in Corel. Ignore the file extension and open as a pdf.

I've tried opening it instead of import webrekker, it just doesn't want to play ball

All done and sent back to you John.

Sent as EPS and Corel file.

Not sure what was wrong with it but I had to open it in Illustrator first and save it down to AI 8. Direct import was not working otherwise.

P.S. If you are wondering I have edited my original email so that my email address is now removed :-)
