I feel for you guys. I wish I had a bigger house I would put you all up for the night. I'm lucky only living 30 mins from NEC. As said above there are quite a few hotels in Birmingham you could try

Has the parking at Birmingham NEC always been £12 a day?

Seem to remember £6 years ago?

I booked into the Easy Hotel in Birmingham, cheap and cheerful but right next to the trains station so hop on the train to NEC, 7 minutes. At least they'll be options for going out, eating...possibly drinking ;-) Hotels at NEC you're held captive to limited options.

Yes £12 a day, annoying as you think your going to a free event. If you stay real late they bugger off from the car park gates and you get out free, that happened on the Sunday last year to us otherwise its cash on the nose when leaving or pay on arrival before going to the event.

Another tip is too check if there are any other events at the same time and if they are advertising free parking. If yes to both then park in their car park instead
