Just use any photos you have. Or in your design software make some coloured patterns

Just grab some images from Google Images and resize them to fit your mug wraps. Large images are preferred, to preserve the sharpness and detail. Make sure you print all your images flipped horizontally before applying.

if you want free software paint.net is useful & easy
gimp is a very comprehensive (though over complicated) full image package.
At a push you could probably even use libra office ?

A lot depends on your printer too. Do you need an ICC profile? Many softwares can't handle ICC.
