We're sending a lot of stuff (both retail and wholesale orders) with Royal Mail Tracked 48 for £3 a box (ex VAT) - box can be up to 46x46x61cm and 20kg
This is for all UK, not just mainland
(we pay £4 for Tracked 24)

Really, how? Our ppi account only allows max 2kg for 2nd class parcel. So interested to find out your method.

You need to get Tracked services added to your RM Business account, and move over to Click and Drop (instead of the OBA website which is being phased out in March anyway, and everyone being moved to C&D). Prices given depend on volume and average weights, and are reviewed quarterly. Needs minimum of 1000 shipments. Price includes daily collections (we get our none tracked mail collected along with the tracked so no more traipsing to the RM depot everyday.

When we signed up (after chatting to some other NOTHS sellers about it) we had a few calls with RM, and they looked through our previous few years of OBA/PPI to look at our volume of shipments (as well as year on year growth) and put us on a profile of 5000 shipments a year, which is cheaper than the lower 1000, but from speaking to other people the prices seem to be pulled out the air, and are very much negotiable. Moving to this, was part of a pricing review of all our operations, so although the cost on some small shipments works out higher on this service, we get tracked deliveries and collections, along with saving a lot of money on wholesale shipments, with the low weight retail sales of single items offsetting the average weights against the big/heavy 20kg wholesale boxes. We're now sending less out on ParcelForce.

Pisquee, how easy is it to move over from OBA to C&D? We have packing codes on our personal labels.

Depends on platform your website runs on, but if Shopify, woo, eBay, Amazon, noths (and soon Etsy) it pulls your orders across automatically, and you can have shipping rules, product types predefined for services, and it will print a despatch sheet and shipping labels onto 6x4" free thermal labels ... Look on YouTube for RM's videos
