Re: Smash proof postal boxes for 6oz Durham mugs
I use polystyrene mug boxes from Custompac - https://www.custompac.co.uk/polystyrene ... g%20mailer
They are available as Large (11oz) or Small(10oz). I used the large ones with bubble wrap around a 10oz mug and have never had a breakage reported. Maybe the smaller 10 oz ones would do for you along with some bubble wrap. I don't use the cardboard outers, I just tape them and pop them in a grey poly postal bag.

Re: Smash proof postal boxes for 6oz Durham mugs
Here's a quick pic of the only 10oz Custompac box I have with a tub that's just very slightly smaller than a 6oz mug (I don't have any 6oz mugs) ...
There's certainly plenty of room in there for the mug bag and bubble wrap, which would make it almost indestructible.
I should add that you can buy just a sample from Custompac if you just want to see what they are like before committing to an order.

Just had a look on the Custom pac site, looks a definite possibility, thanks again for taking the time to post the photos

I used to use the cardboard mug mailers but had a few that broke and had to replace them, so that's why I changedto the polystyrene boxes.I've got to admit though, unlike the cardboard boxes, they do take up some storage space, but are ready to fill immediately when you get some orders in. I've dropped a few of these and the Post Office just throw them into the sack, yet they stand up to almost anything.

I’ll order 40 to try them out!webtrekker;128769 wrote:I used to use the cardboard mug mailers but had a few that broke and had to replace them, so that's why I changedto the polystyrene boxes.I've got to admit though, unlike the cardboard boxes, they do take up some storage space, but are ready to fill immediately when you get some orders in. I still save myself a fortune. I don't by those polystyrene boxes, not only is it a pain for storage, but I have so many breakages with them and also the extra costs. Also If you are going to put the 6oz in them, you are still going to have to put either bubble wrap, or something in to stop them rattling around in the poly.
The smash proof boxes negate all that with just simple shredded paper, which is free. I also use ordinary cardboard boxes, again with the free shredded paper, and not one has been broken despite Royal Mail's best attempts!!!!

Thanks again James, I am definitely going to get a shredder and try out the cardboard boxes, will let you know how I get on with them.James990;128800 wrote:I still save myself a fortune. I get my smashproof boxes 11oz from subliblanks, fantastic, I would just put bubble wrap in the empty portion, honestly never had a broken mug with these.
