Re: Bms own coasters....
We've used same heat tape from same supplier for over two years. Coasters only started peeling away in last 4 weeks as far as complaints go. Same heat tape on previous BMS coasters absolutely fine. Same heat tape on recent coasters and they are peeling away with backing attached. BMS have said they will supply us with older style coasters as well as their heat tape to trail.

We already got the "older stock" coasters from them last order other day,and it still doing the same as before...
And same here, using the same heat tape/supplier for over 12 mths....:frown: BUT >>>
Suppliers change they stock as they run out, obviously, and it "could" be a batch of overly tacky tape...Just saying
It not like the heat tape is date stamped or anything, so one would not know if suppliers got new batch in and floggin it or not....dont believe everything suppliers tell you
...Hence why >>>
I have also just bought another batch of brown heat tape from a different supplier altogether tonight, just to see if it actually is the heat tape or not...
No harm in trying..always need the tape anyhoo
Will let you know how i get on with the new heat tape...
as you have said, there coasters were working 100% with no problems with backing coming off....just the last 300 we got were like this...
first lot of 500 we had little bit, but not worth bothering about tbh.
i have sent jo a small vid of the problem, and they are off to see what can be done....
Re: Bms own coasters....
just as a test - how about pre pressing one coaster for 10 sec. and one without pre pressing? Than tape it up and press properly.
Temperature does change this time of the year and this could affect you guys.

But then again, if that works, that means taking all coasters out, pre=pressing them before the actual press = more time added on to work flow.
But..if it solved the problem...bugger it, i,ll do it
Will try anything tbh, as i like the price and quality ( before this ) of the bms own make coasters

Re: Bms own coasters....
been using the uni sub ones from xpres for the last couple of years, 2 tiny pieces of tape on opposite corners of each coaster, just careful when loading onto the heat press, remove immeadiately after pressing, never had a single problem with the raw backing pealing off

Re: Bms own coasters....
New pack opened today, first time I've had this issue with the back coming off. Got away with it if removed tape whilst still very warm.
Maybe slightly less tacky tape would help?

Re: Bms own coasters....
Glad you also found same problem.
The issue is this wasn't an issue before and now it is. Same tape. Same process. For health and safety we can't allow staff to potentially burn fingers removing hot tape but then again when we are pressing dozens of coasters in one go we cannot afford the time to peel them.
