I,m planning to screen print some vinyl stickers. Can I use the sign vinyl that comes in rolls or is there an other type that I should use.
Many thanks for any advise you might give.

You can use it but I think its cheaper and easier to buy it in sheet format - pyramid do a cheap version - white/clear unbranded 1000mm x 700mm - 100 sheets per box.

Thanks John for your advise. I can understand that sheets might be better
for you guys, however since it would have to be mailed to me, a roll of vinyl might be a better solution, unless of course they could roll the sheets for me. I will try to ask pyramid if its possible to do that.
Again thanks.

A link to pyramid as requested:

The problem with printing vinyl thats been on a roll is it tends to curl a bit. This sometimes causes problems when printing due to the vac not being strong enough to suck it down onto the bed. If this happens you can back roll your cut vinyl stickers before printing. Open up a few metres off a roll of vinyl, place the cut vinyl gloss side up on top of the backing sheet of the roll then roll back up again. Leave this for an hour or so then unroll - your stickers will be flat and ready to print.

Or if using homemade print gear, and no vac available, a little bit spraymount will help.

Yes I do understand the problem of the vinyl curling up. Most of the sizes I,ll be doing would be 12" by 8"so I,m thinking of cutting everything and putting them in a pressthe day before, then printing the next day.

I already have a pair of jiffy clamps, and the vacum table is no problem for me to do.
The only problem I still have to overcome would be the ink. As this might not be locally available, would it be possible to use cellulose car paint instead of solvent inks.
Cheers.

Not quite sure about cellulose paint-have a feeling that it will dry on the screen too fast and be unprintable. Best get polyplast ink from sericol or failing that I'm sure someone on fleabay will sell vinyl ink.
