Yes as mentioned above, it's the paper gripper wheel. If you look up 'pizza wheel' on youtube you will see a demonstration on how to clean the wheel with Isopropyl alcohol. I've never tried it on gel inks though.

Re: Black dotted line through my prints
Thanks, David.
We've the same problem on one of our Ricoh's that was using film on, switched to Epson but would love to get the Ricoh back up and running, will try this.
Also, does anyone know if there is a way to slow down the printing from the 3110DN. This was giving the ink a tad longer to dry.
Let me know how your get on Tracy

Definitely the paper grip wheel. Had the same problem a few years ago when using a paper specifically made for high release on textiles. (Sorry the name has escaped me) It was a thicker than normal paper and the ink stayed wetter, transferring ink to the wheel from dark areas and printing the dotted line in the other areas. Changed to a different paper and had no more problems.

Re: Black dotted line through my prints
Hi There,
We had exactly the same problem and found cleaning did not help! slowing print seen to lowest possible did not help.
We did solve this problem, on our epson WF2010 and WF7710.
We removed the plastic pizza wheels from both printers and the problem has been solved. We left the metal pizza wheels and we are having no more problems now.
We will put a post on about how we did it and if there is interest we can make a video of how to do it on our specific printer.
Regards
Peter
