mcdodd, I just had mine for a few days so I can't vouche for the reliability yet.
But I'm glad to hear from Paul that his press has lasted this long.
Too bad to hear about the cap attachment as I haven't tried it yet, but it's more than enough for me right now.

Hi all again.

One tip that I was given was never to use the presses for more than one hour at a time. I was told to let them stand switched off for at least 15 minutes before starting again. I've been doing this & never had a problem & as I said been using mine now for coming up to 3 years.

Thanks for the tip Paul! Winter hats come in handy for where I'm from.
I was also given this tip about shutting the press off if it's been working for more than one hour, but then again if I have been pressing for an hour straight it's time to take a brake anyway and cool off

I couldn't agree with you more about taking a break after a hour but, I'm usually getting the next batch ready to press.

Our winter hats are already in use here in the north of the UK

How does an Icelandic cool off? I thought they already were cool

But you're right, most of us are cool except our politicians and those greedy banksters.

Tried a knitted one at one time and it went super floppy, same as if you ironed anything acrylic.
