WEVOW and GBP Amazon Rip-offs
Re: WEVOW and GBP Amazon Rip-offs
So...... without mentioning any supplier names so as not to get the thread booted, I notice that some of the companies they are hijacking listings on we actually print for as a third party. Haven't been through it fully to check exact listings but if I am to let our customers know, what is the best way to have them removed?
They are devious little gits and wouldn't trust this lot ripping people off from their empire in Wembley. Can see from clicking on a few listings that they often exactly match the selling price rather than beat it. This apparently stops it flagging up the original seller that someone has undercut them.
What other accounts were they using on Amazon? Do they sell on ebay as well or is that too much hard work for them as they have to do their own listings?
Justin - if we do not directly mention the supplier name, is it okay for this type of discussion to take place?

Perhaps tell Justin in a PM who it is and then if they are not an advertiser on this forum I cannot see why we cannot have this discussion. This is a forum primarily for discussion rather than a place for advertisers to sell their wares.

Re: WEVOW and GBP Amazon Rip-offs
Most people are aware who it is as they are ripping off people on this forum as well as many other companies. I saw one design (Keep Calm and Kill Zombies) that I printed in bulk for a member on here who sold them through Amazon so I know they are up to dirty tricks.Perhaps tell Justin in a PM who it is and then if they are not an advertiser on this forum I cannot see why we cannot have this discussion. In response to the original question, GoonerGary is the man in the know about all their accounts and what they are up to. Might be worth a private message to him about it.
With regards to them in general and the DSF, the supplier was contacted by Justin who then contacted us all individually by private message. Justin is in a difficult position, if the company is mentioned I think I am right in that unlike Facebook, he could get dragged into any legal proceedings. The message Justin sent was decent from his DSF stance, although I felt the supplier was shedding a few crocodile tears and that there was no follow through on his words.
It would be nice to know from other suppliers how "powerful" the DSF is to them. For example, if the supplier was ABC Supplies and I used that company, I would drop them straight away regardless of prices or quality of product. I do not like dirty people in business and from what I have seen these guys are dirty. If we are a force to be reckoned with then it is probably worth pursuing a response from the supplier, but we may be so insignificant that he really does not care.
Should anyone want to know the supplier you can always message me

Ollie - you have missed some substantial discussions on here last week it seems as there were a couple of threads deleted. As SG mentioned, GoonerGary has many facts on the scenario but need to be careful on what to post.
Re: WEVOW and GBP Amazon Rip-offs
I followed the previous topic with interest but I have not seen this email/PM. Was it only sent to people involved in the original post and the subsequent posters.socialgiraffe;124505 wrote: With regards to them in general and the DSF, the supplier was contacted by Justin who then contacted us all individually by private message. I am not sure how significant this forum is to some suppliers, especially ones which work as fulfilment centres for big sellers on Ebay/Etsy/Amazon/NOTHS or sell on those platforms themselves too - plenty of business for them from there I would think, and although there is a lot of members on here, I would guess the majority are more in the hobbyist category, and only a minority of bigger, more established players. (no offence intended towards smaller and hobbyist businesses)
Re: WEVOW and GBP Amazon Rip-offs
As an addition, we're just back from a trade show, and had two companies visiting us- one was a very famous ceramics company, who in the past had talked about licensing some of our designs for putting across a range of their products, but what they did instead was nick the idea of one of our leading product lines, and license designs from a much more established brand and used them instead, so when they came to visit us this year, I wasn't as friendly as last year - the way they were looking this year did seem more like they were looking for more 'inspiration' rather than wanting to license our work, or buy from us.
Second, was a sublimation blanks supplier, not mentioning names, who on one hand are a supplier we use, so was nice to meet them, but at the same time made me a bit uncomfortable them seeing what we do with the products, how we market them, how we package them etc ... time will tell on whether I needed to feel uncomfortable, but maybe what has happened with the company that has been accused of dodgy dealings on this forum has made me more easy than usual.

Re: WEVOW and GBP Amazon Rip-offs
I went to P&P again this year and got talking with a senior sales person that many of us on here know from one of the largest UK companies that supply blanks to us. It was relating to a couple of large orders for 5 and 8K printed mugs that we did not have time to process in house. The prices discussed were very favorable but when I went to confirm the orders a few weeks later hitherto unmentioned additional costs came to light which more than tripled the original quote. Needless to say I did not proceed with those two orders and upset two of my larger corporate customers when I had to go back to them and tell them that I could not accept their orders.
Re: WEVOW and GBP Amazon Rip-offs
Well....we bought one of there (WEVOW) £2.00 mouse mats, that they drove the price right down from £5.99, and it took over week to get here, plus the quality of the print was a dark as hell. Nothing like the nice bright, vibrant colours we do.
It was also just put into a jiffy bag....with no clear protective sleeve like we do....
Funny thing is.....we got email from our old china supplier other day,we used to use when personalised phone covers actually made any decent money, asking why we stopped importing/selling them.
AND.......
The conversation turned around to other products, and she said - "we can print AND ship for you" "if you like" .....ER, i said, thanks, but NA.
I like to see the quality our customers are getting....and if it anything like the WEVOW / GBP INTERNATIONAL crap i got through the post, 100% NOT A CHANCE !
So the question is here...why do this asshole and associates drive prices down to £2.00 per mat,(and others products as well ) and have some peasant in china print it with crap quality, which in turn, lowers the rating/sales of that product ?? customers DO talk to one another you know...social media is a very, very big thing, and if used right, can do a lot of damage to the right asshole thats bothering you, eps if there business/s are in the larger capacity
So the point of driving prices down to stupid levels is ?????
To chase of others on that listing ? - maybe
But if they are sending out crap prints, that kinda defeats the propose no ?
And as for another post i read on here earlier, this forum has a very large following - just type into google search anything to do with sublimation, and i guarantee you, this forums posts are always on page ONE of google.
Anyone who gets into this trade WILL find this forum, for its wealth of info for newbies, and also to find out about RATS like WEVOW and GBP INTERNATIONAL....
AND....
the people who are on here for yrs are truly superb, and will help another if they can..THAT'S THE DIFFERENCE to this and other forums !

Re: WEVOW and GBP Amazon Rip-offs
The problem with not revealing a name is that every supplier then is under suspicion when you don't know who is being talked about. My understanding is that the truth if provable actually trump's legal proceedings concerning any type of deformation claim. So publication of names involved would be justified and defendable in a court of law by showing that there is evidence of the claims made. You will have all at one time or other seen high profile deformation cases in the news, they only win if the evidence they did it is either false or not available.
