Re: Trupix A3 Paper issues

Post by UK Printed Mugs »

Over the last few weeks we've been having the odd sheet of A3 Trupix paper giving non-sublimation results. Normally the end of a sheet so the last three coasters out of twelve stuck down to a sheet would come out ghosted. This probably happens one in every twenty five sheets and is a bugger as the whole substrate needs to be thrown away of course. Anyone else experiencing or just us?

Ps Anyone using the NEW paper from Xpres that has been a Sawgrass approved? Perhaps it is time to jump ship although means whole new custom ICC profile I guess.

Just a thought, seeing as it is the bottom of the whole sheet and only the odd one (and assuming you are pressing them on the whole sheet together) - might it be that they are moving when you open the press? One of my clam presses tends to 'jump' on occasion if I am a bit heavy handed with opening and ghosting does suggest the image moving while still hot

No, it's the paper not our press. It can sometimes be like a one inch strip at the bottom of the paper hence only part sublimation on the coaster/metal/fabric or sometimes four inches and a complete line of coasters get ghosted. The kind people at Xpres though have sent us out some of their new paper so we may jump ship if it is on par with Truepix.

Have spare A4 sample pack (3 sheets) of this new Xpres paper (sold by Sawgrass apparently) - going free - just PM us your postal address. Only one pack so will post when gone.
