Looks like they have added the white outline at quite a high point, so you get the merge between letters

I think if you search for a baseball font you will find a number of similar fonts, including Jackport College http://www.fontspace.com/the-fontry/jac ... ollege-ncv

The bottom wakeboarder text appears to make use of glow to provide the outside white. Glow is the term for Fireworks which is the programme I use but other graphics programmes might use a different term.
