Hi,
I'm having real problems with colour matching. It's something which has plagued me for years... I manage to get away with it, but I now HAVE to get a colour right as it's a company logo.
I checked that the ink levels are all ok on the printer (Ricoh 3110), that the image is CMYK profile from photoshop and that I am working in CMYK in Adobe Illustrator.
Yet the colour isn't even close when it gets printed. I am using a mac.
Is this something to do with the colour space / profile which Illustrator uses? There are loads of different ones to choose from. It's the only thing I can think of which might be wrong.
Any ideas??
Thanks,
Matt.

Re: colour issues
To get the colours right you need to have the correct profile installed on your machine for the inks you are using.
If, for example, you are using Sawgrass inks in your Ricoh then Sawgrass provide you with he profile and instructions on how to install it. If you are using a different ink then hopefully they do too. Without this you will always have problems in matching colours. If your supplier of ink does not provide a profile then you can get them made at a cost of about £25.00

USING: Whatever it takes to get the job done...
Re: colour issues
I do have the sublijet profile installed, but it's not visible anywhere to select? Does the colour space in Illustrator matter or is it literally the profile on the print dialogue which should be sawgrass?
I found a color sync profile which says it's sublijet profile for my printer. I guess that would be the place to start!?

Re: colour issues
Hi Matt,
Check the documentation on the Sawgrass site for the setup. My Photoshop setup for Ricoh 7700 uses RGB for the document not CMYK.
It's one of the odd things with the Ricoh printers 4 ink colours but RGB profile.
Here's the AI set up for Windows from Sawgrass pdf-
