Re: Deck Chairs

Had an enquiry today from a customer who wants to print the material for deck chairs and was asking if our canvas was suitable.
To be honest I wasn't really sure don't really think inkjet canvas would be the way to go. Anybody any ideas regarding what material weight ect and also what kind of printer eco solvent or latex possibly.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

These people seel 50 meter rolls

Personally I would recommend a UV printer based on what the finished item is. Depending on the design you could get away with a heat transfer on to an "off the shelf" chair which would come in cheap.

It all depends on the customers requirements and bank account :-)

Just had a quick look on the net as I've never come across sublimation deckchairs before. The way I understand it is that you sublimate onto thick (500gsm?) canvas which is then bonded with the chair material.

I reckon they'd look quite attractive, but the process seems to be a bit involved.

They caught my eye because they came as a set of self assembly bits, with polyester canvas already stitched. I suspect they were not listed as sublimation as such, just they were bulk deckchairs that happened to have polyester canvas.

we have printed ready made deck chairs, - most use polyester, so you can sub them - mostly black images.
Cheapest ready made about £20.... so not cheap after you have printed them ....

Would be interested to hear where you can get the self assembly bits from. I think it is something a couple of my clients could go for.

We've done a few deckchairs over the years. Buying in ready made frames, but would be great to find a cheaper source of components to build ourselves to make them more profitable!

I didn't get around to buying the deckchairs, I was sidetracked into other avenues (easily done with me!). Mrs Janners reckons it was Bournemouth, and that is worrying! Time flies.....
Mrs Janners never forgets. Here is the link and this was the business.
