Yeah with the sawgrass inks it was around the £250 mark, now about £310. The virtuoso was around £350 now about £500. Big jump for the Virtuoso

Yes, it was around £50. Picked up a couple at that price from Amazon.

Have a look here as well

We have the sg3110dn currently at £282.50 including a full set of sawgrass ink and a Free pack of Jet Stream sublimation paper. Plenty of stock of them in stock in our warehouse. They are flying out on a daily basis probably due to the sawgrass increases.

Price increases are due to the value of the pound, most stuff being produced abroad has had price increases, I had a great deal before Xmas on an SG800 from Novachrome, worth giving them a call and see what they have on offer....

Good point that about the value of the pound. I haven't looked at Novachrome, will take a look now, cheers

Just seen on the MDP website that the SG800 has gone up to £1259 plus vat. It was less than £900 last time I looked.
Happy brexit, everyone.

In the past six months the highest sterling has been against the dollar is £1 = $1.33, currently it's around £1 = $1.22, or nominally 10% weaker.

£900 + 10% is £990, whilst that's far from ideal, it's rather too easy for importers to sting their customers whilst wringing their hands, shrugging their shoulders and blaming brexit.

We bought a SG800 for less than a grand a few weeks ago - around £950 I think - but then we did check prices before throwing too much cash around...

10% weaker is overly optimistic - the pound was about $1.50 around the time of Brexit, which was the nominal value the previous price had been set by. 20% is more realistic - which only puts it at about £1050.

Problem we face is that the pound has also fallen against the Euro, which makes it cheaper for EU customers to buy in the UK . Because we are still in a single market, but with multiple currencies, the UK price has to be set relative to the euro - so that it is not cheaper here than it is in the Eurozone. Sawgrass are just protecting their business in 27 other European countries.

Many other international brands will have to do the same, until we are out of the single market.

Around £195 price increase on the SG400 if we bought one right now compared to when we purchased one when they first brought them out :)
Same with the Roland GS24 - That's gone up £100-£120 in the recent months.

Just seen the SG 800 has risen to $1799 on some of the US websites, so our new price doesn't appear so out of line with the US price.
Something is going on with Sawgrasses prices - maybe they are loosing market share in the ink battle and not selling enough printers to sustain a lower price.
