Well

I bought a Ricoh sg 3300n printer and a adkins press at the weekend.

I have registered downloaded the Sawgrass software and the printer is showing in my printer printers & faxes page on my laptop

I upgraded from XP to windows 10 a while ago so I have also downloaded the driver for the printer.

It downloads the files to my temp folder as a zip file, I then go to my temp folder and unzip it and run windows 10 64 bit install.

evrything works fine until it comes to detecting the printer and there is where the install ends as it says cannot detect the printer.

anyone any ideas please.

Have you tried a different usb cable in another slot. Win 10 sometimes just doesn't like a particular cable/port combination.

I agree worst thing I ever did was download windows 10.

If I go back to XP will that have a effect on all my other programs.

Or I have seen a Ricoh 3100dn for sale 2nd hand for £40.00 but have to collect and 110 miles away.

You could always dual boot Win10 and Win7, but your old copy of Win7 will have expired a month after the update to Win10 so you will need another, unused copy.

Thanks for the help.

Printer now working OK.

Had to use the wife's pc which was bought with win 10 instead of a upgrade.

Just printed and pressed 3 glass clocks, 1 off them ok apart from text dark brown instead of black. the other 2 clocks cracked during pressing.

Now I am out of paper which is the best?

Also the paper is discolouring (scorching) is this normal?

We have not tried sublimation with the glass clocks - I think that a quick pre-heat is probably advised on an item like this. Do a quick search for blacks printing as brown, some paper discolouration is often normal although it shouldn't be actually burning. What temperature and times are advised for the items you are pressing?

We started using Textprint R (Ricoh) at the beginning and have stuck with it. There are a few different quality papers that people use, much of it will come down to personal choice.

Thanks Adrian

According to the longforte website it recommends 4 mins, 200 Deg. light pressure.

I have tried 195 Deg, down to 2 1/2 mins light pressure, Also pre-heated them.

Still cracked, although they don't look very good about the centre hole brfore I even start.
