Photo Rock slate is not transferring properly.Paper sticking to slate.
Products/Equipments:

Ricoh SG7100DN, Xpres A3+ Paper, Sublijet r ink, Rock Slate,

What I have tried to resolve problem:

I have tried changing the temperature, the time and pressure slightly as suggested by other sights.
Ensured print was dry on paper before pressing.
Pre-cooking slate to ensure no moisture.
Used silicone pad.
Slate is face up, print face down.
Made sure printed on correct side of paper.

Yes, I have similar results - are these a new batch of slates recently? All the newer ones I'bve tried to print have come out like this.

Got my first batch 9th Oct for testing got second batch 27th Oct. You can see the first batch are far more glossy looking.

I had a matte in the first batch and it was the best by a long way.

I got them from Merlin Transfers and will be contacting them soon!

Hi All,

I am looking for some advice if possible.

I am trying to sublimate some photo rock slates but the image quality is really poor as if its not transferring properly.

I am using ricoh printer and sawgrass inks.

The slates came from longforte.

The settings i use is time 8 minutes temp 200 degrees.

I sublimate with them facing down so the heat goes through the slate.

Any advice of what i could try would be welcomed.

You can see the image of what im getting here or via this url https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3P5cK ... lReFk/view

Look forward to hearing from you.

I use the same printer/ink/slates and time and do mine face up, works fine for me... worth a try ;)
I do put a rubber sheet on top of the slate so it's not direct heat from the press..

try my video. is bit outdated and show matte slate but worth to have a go. I would lower your temp down. flip it printable area up and use silicon sheet to even out the temperature.
