Morning all,

My name is Vicky & I'm currently based in West Yorkshire. I'm part graphic designer, part marketer & hopefully soon, part dye sub professional! I've a little dye sub experience (not much!) but am now looking to invest in my own set up & get printing both my own work & perhaps other people's too.

So glad I've found this place as I've spent forever researching equipment, so hopefully now I'll be able to find some impartial advice

Well feel free to post up questions and if you haven't bought equipment yet then some good second hand stuff flying around here or on eBay although of course buying new would give you support and warranty. Justin (the owner of this forum) has an Adkins (high quality) press for sale.

Our 10p worth: Buy Ricoh/Sawgrass printer, buy Sawgrass ink, buy trupix sublimation paper. In our opinion.

Thanks for that - you've confirmed my thoughts! I've been looking at the Ricoh printers, as I came to the conclusion that it's not worth the hassle of a cheap printer, CISS/refills & cheap ink, so that is good to know. The leader so far is the Ricoh 3110DN with Sublijet-R ink for a starting point, alongside a swing away press & separate mug press. My budget is limited at the moment but I'm a bit dubious of the 5in1 type set ups, so it will likely be a case of getting what separates I can afford & working from there. I did look at the 3d vacuum sublimation presses, but I'm not entirely convinced about them - they look as if !

I hadn't thought about 'preloved' as I think I'd prefer to have the support & warranty...just in case, but that is good info to have.
Thanks for your input - it's much appreciated
