Fleebay keep saying that I would get a discount if I do my mugs post free, but that would mean adding the postage to the price before offering them post free, and when people see an already high price, they go elsewhere, where the price is the price and then adding the p&p, even when it works out the same!

It would qualify for a discount on your fees as a "Fast and Free" premium listing. It is also meant to get a slight boost in page ranking.

Yes, but what about losing sales due to seemingly higher prices?

I added in postage a long time ago so it was "Free" and didn't see a sales drop...didn't see it increase either!

I've bumped my mugs up another pound for this year. The low exchange rate gives you that room to increase prices. I'm still cheaper than NOTHS. Might stretch it a bit more, don't want to kill my sales too much.

Ebay isnt as price sensitive as, say Amazon. You dont have to be the cheapest to achieve sales, my theory is that once you have proved "authority" within a specific category then you can achieve steady sales even against competitors who may sell for less.

The really tough bit is getting there.

RM24 and RM48 business accounts pay set pricing no matter who you are. They offer discounts based upon the volume being sent that day for the services combined. So if you ship a few hundred in a single day it drops and keeps dropping as quantity goes up. But as mentioned it is a daily discount. The only thing they negotiate on is the international, royal mail tracked services, etc
