Customprintwales you appear to have slightly misunderstood.
Big difference in a mug being in a dishwasher for 2000 cycles and being clanked against each other, thrown in sinks, banged on a surface after every sip, pulled out of a cold cupboard and boiling water poured in etc. The comment is the life cycle of a mug, not how many times it can sit in a nice warm dishwasher, limited expansion and contraction, limited physical impact and a nice gentle wash. Just leave it dishwasher and it'll probably never be broken.

The Duraglaze mugs are obviously over-engineered if they have been tested through 2000 dishwasher cycles.
I have mugs going strong that have been used over 2000 times. At my prices my customers would not be very happy if I gave them a life of just 50 uses.
