Help with new printer purchase

Hi, thinking of purchasing a budget printer package from eBay this week - just need to do mug run of 250.. JUST wondering if any one runs one with good results... I know buy cheap buy twice - but I have been down the sawgrass root and not happy...

I can only advise on what's worked for me, and that was to buy a Ricoh SG3110DN package from CIE on ebay. I keep hearing people going on about Sawgrass, and admit to never having tried them as their prices seem extortionate, but what I have at the moment works perfectly well and produces excellent results. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

What was the issue with Sawgrass Weston?

I don't think anyone will disagree with the cost of the inks being a tad high, but then you get what you pay for, never had an issue with the inks and know that the back up is there should I need it. Most people are aware that their black is not the best and white panel / black mugs should be avoided with their inks, but that is all. It is a good ink and works well.

Yeah, I think a lot of people make a choice when they first start out, be it Sawgrass or one of the many others, and they stick with that choice unless they start getting results they're not happy with. This is why you get some saying one thing and others saying another thing. To me, the ink that's best is the one that works for you, regardless of what others say.

Thanks socialgraffe, tad high - Just under a £1 a mug print... and there customer service is not to be recommended - keep saying they are not receiving emails when i know they are / ink out of date will not work in there printers / want be to do all the testing at my expense the list goes on.. this is a in warranty printer with 88 on counter using first set of carts..

THE BEST IS THEY REFUSE TO GIVE THE EMPTY CART WEIGHT..

Certainly shouldn't be costing you anywhere near £1 per print. If you're getting out of date inks that's an issue to take up with your supplier?

What about just getting someone to print the 250 transfers for you id that's all you need? I'd gladly help out.
