Re: Problem setting up Ricoh SG3110DN - how to download a driver?!
Hi,
I hope that someone can help me.
I bought a second hand printer last week (four months old), and today I have tried to set it up. First, I put the refillable cartridges in, that are almost filled with ink, with exception to one that's lowish.
I switched the printer on, and a message popped up saying 'low ink', whilst the printer made a funny noise (sounded like it was processing something). Then the message 'low ink' popped up again, followed by the noise, and this happened repeatedly until it then stopped and said 'ready'. But it still says 'low ink' (with exception to the black ink'. I'm not sure why, because aside of the yellow, the other cartridges were pretty full?
I would like to try the printer out, but my computer's cd player is broken, so I'm going to have to download a driver for it. But alas, I'm hitting a brick wall; I looked on Ricoh's website and found what looked like four different downloads. I downloaded the latest version, for Windows 8, but all it has given me a zip file of a dozen or more files. There's no 'installation wizard' for me to follow to download the driver to my computer, so that I can print something.
If anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it. I wish I had all of the time in the world to figure this out for myself, but I'm a busy mum, ontop of working, there never seems to be enough hours in a day .
Thanks,
Look forward to your replies.

Firstly what inks have you got? If they are not sublimation inks then you will have to flush the whole system first, but to be honest I would get your children to bed grab a large glass on vino and have a good look through the forum first. Many of the questions you have asked and will ask are all here.
Many thanks

Hi Quinsfan,
Yes, they are sublimation inks (Fotorite from CityInkExpress).
And I have had a look on the forum, I can't seem to find an answer. I'm hoping someone who has one of these printers might be able to help. If I could just download the driver, so my computer can connect to the printer, so I can try a test print, that would be helpful.

Thanks Quinsfan, I've tried to follow these links, but the same thing's happening, it's just letting me download zip files, that when I open them all I've got is dozens of readable files, but none are installation files, for me to install/run the driver.
If anyone can help me, please get in touch!
Thanks.

I could be wrong but I have an idea that Sawgrass are not supporting the 3110 anymore??
I upgraded my pc and needed to install the 3110 driver but couldn't find my cd. Searched the Sawgrass web site and it was no where to be found. I would rather hope that it was a temporary glitch on their website as withdrawing drivers like that is a pretty crappy thing to do. I found my disc in the end and so haven't been back to see if the drivers are ther now.

I also have a new laptop that does not take disc's. If anyone has found the answer, please message or reply.

Can someone just put the answer on this thread. That way anyone searching for a solution can find the answer by themselves. Seems simple enough.
