I have had this press for little over 6 months, anybody had any problems at all, mine has suddenly decided to give up and now it will not heat up at all, I have a job on for a few sleeves and the temp is just dropping and dropping.

I got it from signzworld on ebay

thanks

It's strange, the temp just dropped and now won't heat up, there is a button on the back panel, pressed that hoping for a miraculous reset or something as thought it may have been a circuit break or something but didnt work, now just idles at a steady 15c

Spoke to the company, they will take it back, repair it and send it back for £15.00, strange as its under warranty but they said its past the 3 months, anybody else bought from signzworld or had any problems with them at all, just curious?

UPDATE

Got my machine back after 4 days, to say I wasn't pleased is putting it politely!
They said they had replaced the motherboard and also heat plate as they said that both had failed on the machine, I noted to them that galaxy heat plates have a lifetime guarantee on them so it's very unlikely that this will fail in my opinion.

They replaced the motherboard with a board from an older model which I wasn't pleased about, I also have a crack in the cover over the heat plate where I can slide some vinyl in between, there is also a large dent at the back of the machine where the white button is at the bottom right of the machine, it has been hit pretty hard as the paint is flaking all around it, they said it had arrived damaged and was my own fault due to not packaging it correctly lol, the machine did not have a mark on it when i sent it.
I sent the machine back again where they replaced the the motherboard for the correct board and sent it back to me.

When i received it back the first time i tested the temp of the plate, the entire front section of the plate is reading between 60 and 80c with the temp set at 150c, the rest of the plate is as it should be at around 150c give or take a couple of degs, the explanation for this was that all machines will have this as there is an over hang where part of the plate over hangs the press and is not used, is it just me or is this company taking the pi$$ or what, if i were to print a large sleeve or cap then the heat at the front of the press would not be sufficient for the job, I have posted a link here so you can have a look at what they say as they have filmed it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yuuygE ... e=youtu.be

They also stated that they tested all of their own presses and they said the same results and that it should be cooler, the front part of the plate would not be used, i mean ffs!

I complained to them and after email after email they have now told me that the machine arrived damaged, seriously pissed off now.

I think trading standards will be brought in for this one as they are not addressing the issues I have raised

If anybody has a galaxy 501 cap press, can they do me a favour, measure the temp on the front left and right corners of the machine and tell me the temp you guys are receiving, I was told by signzworld that this temperature should be lower as this part is not used (bigger platens will make use of it)

Im getting a temp reading of between 50 and 80 on front left and right corners of the heat plate when I set the temp at 150c, back corners left and right are good, center is good, from front left to front right, thats when the changes happen, my heat gun wont register the correct temp until about a cm and a half in towards the center.

Signzworld told me they tested all their machines gthat they had in and that the readings were the same as I was getting.

Thanks
