I'm looking for a monochrome laser printer capable of printing large blocks of solid black. I may use it with TMT 3.1 textile paper, haven't decided yet.

Any recommendations?

Only look at Oki laser printers. These have straight through feeds so no paper curling and can go quite thick as well.

I looked at the OKI 610 on TMT's site stating,
"Unique & Exclusive TMT Firmware & Media Drivers Guaranteed Transfer Paper Compatibility & Performance."

I don't want to spend hundreds on colour toners, would any OKI printer with standard drivers be ok?

I purchased a C610 from TMT when Oki were doing a money back offer that made it a no brainer as I was looking for a colour laser anyway. Print quality is as good as any other sub £1k laser that I have seen. I really should pull my finger out and get the TMT software sorted so I can have a tinker with some of their papers

are you saying that using non TMT substrates (plain paper and card stock or transfer paper from other suppliers) = trashed fuser?????

I think LogoBear is referring to transfer material only and not necessarily card or paper stock. Having said that, if you went to the print show and saw the new OKI's in action then you would mean paper and card stock as well :-)

No, quite the opposite. Inline spot varnish five colour print and range of materials available has made me seriously tempted....
