Printer for Starting

Hi everyone. I am just starting out with this and want to learn the basics without spending a fortune. Basically to see if it is worth the additional investment. Would an Epson Expression Home XP-235 be suitable to start with using a CIS ink system?

A quick google shows that there are kits available for this series of Epsom printers. If your existing printer is running well then you probably want to flush through the old ink with distilled water. Is there also an additional external waste ink tank available to cope with the larger capacity of ink on the supply side? If not then find out if you are able to reuse the internal supplied waste.

I would still consider going for the Ricoh 3110 (it is a dedicated printer rather than a wifi printer scanner) and then using the Epsom for your basic office duties - printing address labels, packaging information and perhaps price tickets and stuff for events.

Everyone will look at this with different eyes but consider that you will only get out what you put in. Good luck.

Ah that makes sense. No there is not an external waste tank. I think then my best bet is to buy a new printer that I can attach both the CISS and the external waste ink tank to. To get started would the Ricoh SG2100N suffice? I can then upgrade at a later date. Also with the Ricoh printers is it possible to use dye inks or with its geljet technology is that not possible?

Very little difference in price between the 2100 and 3110. I don't really know what the differences really are between the two. Worth talking to a supplier and ensure that they supply you with an appropriate ICC profile for your printer/ink/paper combination - this will give you best colour accuracy. You may need to update this when you buy replacement ink.

A good supplier will be able to guide you and work with you to solve any issues that you may encounter.

3100 is apparently a lot better for sub work that the 2100 so good choice. I know nothing as I'm an epson man

I have 2 wf3010's. 1 for normal work and 1 for sub. And a 1500W
