Re: new inks required
Suppliers will no longer give us a discount on inks due to recent price increases I'm afraid so you won't find much difference on price.
You can get a set of refil carts and flush the old inks out. Non SG inks can be sourced but I'm yet to find a reliable seller of good ink. Some suppliers sell inks on EBay that are not Ricoh suitable due to the viscosity, Ricoh need a thicker ink.
No problem discussing now the patent has ended.

Great Justin, thats why i was being cautious,
Ok what i really want is a supplier of refillable cartridges that fit the SG400 HD PRINTER,
And the inks would be great too.
just dont fancy paying over £200 (vat included) for a full set of sublihd inks. as i dont do much sublimation yet.

Re: new inks required
We use City Ink Express and Colourbest for all our inks and refillable/CISS systems, (Ricoh and Epson) they have both provided a great service inc profiles (although we do tweak them quite a bit). Have always pulled out all the stops too when I've needed something quickly. We run 5 printers and swapped from OEM/Sawgrass inks to their Fotorite for Sublimation and K3 for Pigment inks a year or so ago and have noticed no difference in performance or finish with either. All hard items dishwashered and fabrics washed at 40 degrees, all with no fade.
Actually the one and only noticable difference has been the massive reduction in ink costs which have fallen by around 70-80% over a year which included buying the refillable carts and CISS systems. A little practical ability does come in handy every so often with installing and maintaining the ink levels etc.

Re: new inks required
I agree, CityInkExpress inks have been great for me, and have also passed the dishwasher/microwave tests to my satisfaction. Their normal inkjet inks are great too.
I had a CISS system for my inkjet (Canon ix6500) but it was always air-locking, so I dumped it and use refillable carts instead. I also use refillable carts for sublimation in my Ricoh SG3110DN.

Re: new inks required
what about refilillable cart and inks for the SG400?
On a different note today i decided to get back into sublimation so have just purchased the PNEUMATIC AUTO MUG HEAT PRESS ST-110, hope these are ok as presses go?

The SG400 is a tweaked Richo 3110 - it has different print heads and drivers I understand to aid the higher definition printing. Check with prospective ink manufactures/suppliers that this will not be an issue with third party ink. You will need a new ICC profile for printer/ink/paper combination - this should be supplied with ink.Dave271069;115748 wrote:what about refilillable cart and inks for the SG400?

The mug press should be good for producing standard 10/11oz mugs from reputable suppliers - plenty of peoples preferences to be found in the forum.
