Re: Poor quality images

Post by De8n »

Hi all. I'm looking for some help. 0please don't tell me I've got the wrong this or that and should of bough from one of the forum suppliers. I've got what I've got and need to make it work. I've got a old Mac so can only run affinity photo. I've got a Ricoh Africo sf 2100n printer and sublimation inks. When I get an image on the screen it looks very bright and vivid but once I print the final print looses a lot of its colour and brightness. The image isn't still very clear just poor colour. I haven't changed any settings ha within the program or on the printer page as unsure where or what to do. Please. Any help would be great fully appreciated 😊

You've bought the wrong thing, sorry, had to say it! You may get the 2100 to work for you but many report otherwise. 3110 is the tried and tested option.

What inks and paper are you running? Do you have a profile for these?

Have you tried pressing as images usually look that way until pressed, you'll be surprised how different.

Hi Justin. Thanks for your reply. I havnt tried pressing it yet as the image colour was so poor. As for inks, paper and profile I bough this printer new from eBay and included inks but doesn't say who manufactures them and same for the paper thinks it's just generic sublimation paper. I'll add the ebay liknks here so you can see what I bough and if you are able to offer any further advice. As for profile I again would have to say no as don't even know what it is. Here's are the links :

Oh dear, I've had dealings with this seller. Inks were excellent but customer service an absolute joke. They should have offered you a custom profile foc but good luck getting one.

I'll remove your links at some stage to protect other members, this seller is worse than useless. I would have put a lot of business his way as the inks were so good but no after sales support means no way!

Maybe not what you want to hear but harsh reality.

Hi Paul. Thanks for taking time to reply . I've looked for an older version of photoshop but can't find it as on the cloud installed thing it's doesn't let you go back through older versions of install. Any ideas of a location where I can get a download of ca2z???. I've also found a website that says it can create a ICC profile for £15 so maybe that might be a set in the right direction if I don't get a response from the supplier as Jason said he'd had dealings with him in the past and his response to questions and problems was very poor but the quality of the ink was excellent :).

Justin not Jason ;-). Don't pay for a profile when supplier should be providing this, maybe you'll have better luck than me :-)

Apologies to JUSTIN ;). We'll making a bit of progress with the seller. I've had a response regarding the inks and profile and he's reply was that the sella should of supplied the profile with the inks as the package I bough from him didn't contain inks. Problem now is that he may of sent me the wrong package as the one supplied did contain sublimation inks and were INK-Pro or something along those lines. I have recontacted him saying I may be shootings myself in the foot but he may of send the more expensive package containing the inks by mistake. Just hope I'm not held to ransom over the price difference for a profile. Anyway thanks for your replys gents. Any info I can get is always a great help . I've also just agreed with another seller who I had purchased inks from for a return as they didn't have have profile and couldn't supply one. I purchased those inks as didn't know I would get some in my box and didn't know about this ICC business and not very computer savvy
