Hi Guys
I have added an Epson 325 to my collection of printers, cutters etc, with dye sub inks I use for Hi vis vests etc, works very well and gives impressive and very easy / quick results so am able to turn around jobs very quickly !!
Just acquired a sample pack of sublicotton sheets and powder coating, been asked to print a logo for a local band and I am planning to test them on a sample of T'shirts / Polos to see how they stand up, will be easier for me than screen printing transfers. Usual videos show impressive results - but been there before ;-)

Anyone actually used them, I will be using them on white and powder blue shirts, will be using Corel draw (x7) looking for guidance on setting etc if you have already tried them, firmly believe in learning from mistakes, but ideally, not my own ;-)

Regards all

Will be trying these over the weekend, I generally get decent results from my old Epson and sub transfer papers, so hopefully this will add another string. I don't compete with the big boys but do well for the short, quick turnaround runs that I would be using this for, I'll address pricing after I see what the Sublicotton behaves like - Still open to hints or tips from anyone who has used them.

One question just occurred - on the Videos, print, Coat, straight onto T'shirt and press - I print my dye subs at home and take them down to workshop when I am pressing, can I do this with the sublicotton, or do they have to go straight on (to avoid smudging I assume) ??

Main reason, before you ask, is that I have a very clean environment at home (my original "workshop" was the back bedroom) so have kept parts of what I do there, I could bring one of the heat presses back, or take the Epson down (less than 500 metres) but I do like my current setup !!

The ink doesn't dry at all so remains wet on the paper. I wouldn't leave this too long before pressing as if the ink dries naturally then there won't be anything for the polymer powder to stick to and the end result will be poor.

Well, having tried out the paper and powder over the weekend, first results look promising !!

First problem I had was banding, either because I had moved the printer to my workshop, or more likely because I hadn't printed anything on that one for a few weeks - did a realignment of the heads and a nozzle check, had to clean the nozzles but it now prints as it should !

I put the powder into a shaker and lined my tray with paper, not a lot of poly powder so don't want to waste any, printed lettering and an image - liberally sprinkled on the powder and then straight on to a cotton tee waiting on the heat press, obligatory 45 secs at 190 (ish)

Very impressed with first results, sharper than expected image, going to run a T and a polo through a couple of wash cycles to see how they stand up, but so far so good, many thanks to BMS for supplying the poly coating and the app paper, plus advice given on here !

Many thanks for the help guys !!

Just like to add - after sprinkling on the poly powder, I did shake off the excess powder and returned it to my shaker before putting the printout onto the T in the heat press !!

Just a quick note - I'm using an Epson SX235W Stylus, I have 2 sets of extra large refillable cartridges so I don't have the usual CISS setup, but these work brilliantly !!

Quick update on the Subli cotton as not been on for a few weeks.

Had several more goes at this, recently done a couple of hoodies with a logo and phone across the back, excellent results !!
Also yesterday I printed a T'shirt across the chest with the logo for a canal cruiser I recently purchased, wanted to try out a full colour image - might have lifted a little early as parts of the "outside" edge look a little aged, but still very impressed on a grey T'shirt.

Did a trial print - jpeg image e-mailed at 11, and I simply imported into Corel (x7) and printed, I use a large hole shaker to cover image with the powder, heat pressed for 45 seconds, and dropped the t'shirt off at 11:45 - potential customer just as impressed as I am !

I like this product and would recommend it to anyone, will never replace my usual dye sub work, or be as cheap as my screen prints - but for good quality, short runs - this is brill !! (note: no problem using for longer runs, but you cannot prepare a stack of images ready to press, its a print, coat, press job, one at a time, but the quality and instant turn around could be reflected in your pricing)

Any one else using this ?
Please let me know how you are finding it, or if you have come across any problems, plus any hints or tips would, as always be welcome !

Bit long winded, so apologies ;-)

cheers guys

Hmmmm. Ive got sublicotton here but it came out blurred on the paper. I looked more into it and it said Ricoh printers only. My 3 are epsons so assumed id just jumped into it blind. I will give it another go today I think
