Re: Thread Trimming Problem

Post by cass »

Hi,

We have recently bought a Melco EMT 10t.

It will not trim the thread between letters leaving a stitch between each one.

Im using it in Tajima format and using a DST file provided by netdigitizing.

The thread trimming function is enabled.

Where am i going wrong?

Thanks

If you havent the software to alter the design so it trims you will have to ask Netdigitising to do it for you. It has nothing to do with the machine.

Thanks for the reply Earl.

The file sheet provided indicates that there are trims included. It states this:

Left: 40.3
Right: 40.3

Down: 17

EndX: 0
EndY: 0

Max Stitch: 6.3
Min Stitch: 0.6
Max Jump:6.7

My default maximum space between letter without trim is set to 1mm. Over that and the letters will be trimmed. I dont know what your text is but I would think that the closer ones are joined and the ones that are further apart are trimmed. I usually trim all my text unless it is really close together and the joins cannot be seen.

Thanks, this is what were getting (image attached below):

A trim is initiated between the top triangle logo and the text below and also a trim is initiated at the end of the embroidery.

It sounds like maybe there is some setting for maximum space between letters without a trim that i have set to 11 miles or something but i can't find it within the menu. All there i can see is a "trim on stitch length" function which is set to 127 - if i reduce it to say 50 which i presume is 5mm then it does trim most of the jumps between letters but also trims the longer threads within the top triangle logo so this is more of a bodge than a fix.

It looks to me like each letter is an object. You dont need to trim within the object/letter but after each object.
If you have a software program you could select each letter individually and select no trim within the object and to trim after object. Or you might be able to select everything and not trim within objects and trim between. Dont know which program you are using but they all work roughly the same.
