H Guys I managed to win a bid on a Roland Sp300i for £2200 according to the seller Item is in perfect working order ..But I am not confident as the price of the product tho I wont the bid (It normally goes over £4000 ) ..Please advice me the safety precautions I can take when paying for this ...Going to collect the item so what is the safe way for the payment ??.. (Paypal or cash on collection ) ..And what are the things I need to look at when checking the printer ....I am not sure this is a genuine sale as the price and the seller feedbacks ( only 7 feedbacks ) ...I thought cash on collection the safe way ....Your advice on both of ebay and printer is greatly appreciated ..(I am new to these solvent printers ) ...I have posted this in genaral section as this is about ebay as well .Thanks

Personally I'd use PayPal, it can be traced and you have some cover. I'd also ensure a trail by only messaging through eBay.

I was always told, if something sound to good to be trueit probably is. Wise words I've chosen to the ignore at my peril over the years!

I'm ordering 2 new printers, minimising the risks a little.

I agree with Justin. PayPal is the safest option as you have some kind of protection.if he's advertised it's as perfect and it isn't you have eBay on your side.

Versaworks comes with the printer, if he hasn't got it on disk I'll send a link over for you to D/L
Make sure you get him to print a few things off, test print to check the heads is a must, I have just replaced 2 heads on the VP-300 and with dampers, cap tops etc....it cost well over 1k (these use 4 heads) it's a bargain price if it's working 100% :)

2 misfires will print fine, before I changed a head I had about 30 on one head and the prints were still OK but not perfect (I had a shadow around black) so 2 blocks missing from a test print will be fine, have you asked him to send a print over?
I had no VW with mine so rang Roland and they gave me this link to D/L , yes it's free as it only works with Roland
