Re: Decent order (for us anyway)

Just had a car club order 50 mugs. How would you all post them? One big box with 50 in?
Where can I get a box of this size? Could I use 2 of the 36 mug boxes together I wonder and just cut them down?
I would be posting them in the standard white individual boxes but obviously bubble wrap the big box well.

Where can I try for a decent priced courier?

I always send mine out in boxes of 36

48 will require you to cut the box down by 1 tray which is pretty easy and then put the other two in polystyrene boxes. Forget price and go with a reputable carrier like DPD, they are far more likely to look after your consignment than YODEL (for example). Clearly mark each box on the sides and the top that they are FRAGILE GOODS in BIG letters.

If the DPD depot is close by, perhaps drop them off to save the risk on that little bit of the journey (although its hardly worth it).

I never box or wrap the mugs and I never wrap the box either. I use Interlink and I think about 1 in 30 consignments end up with a couple of damaged mugs which I simply replace.

I would go with DPD or INTERLINK, if they are not there then I would book them direct.

Hi SG. Thanks for your reply. I will give that a try. Any ideas what 50 mugs would weigh?

A box of 36 mugs (without individual boxes) weighs 13.5 kilos

48 mugs will weigh 22.5 kilos plus a bit more for the the boxes and other two.

So I would base it on 25 kilos max.
