Re: counter/print head reset? help please

Post by Chris-P-Midlands »

Hi All,

Any help with resetting and Epson XP225 printer counter please?

Error message reads "printer heads at he end of serviceable life" or words to that effect?

The printer has been in use from new for 1 year, for sub printing (supplied ready for sub printing)

CISS supplied with printer, and installed by myself.

I see that there are codes you can buy online to use for resetting yourself, but am wary of purchasing one.

In typical fashion, this happens just as I go to complete an order, and means that I now have to let a customer down.

Hope someone can help, quick!

Thanks in advance.

This post has been read by 28 people, .. can no one help please? Surely someone has experienced this already?

I am happy to buy a code offline and go through the process, I just wanted to hear from someone who had already gone though it, and could say how easy or hard it was to do?

Thanks in advance anyone.

Sorry, not a printer I've ever used and doesn't appear to have been mentioned on the forum....ever :-(

Sounds like a new printer to me. If you're going to buy a code put the money towards something better.

Hi Justin,

Thanks for your reply.

I have seen the printer used in several tutorials when researching prior to setting up the business. In all fairness, it has worked really well, and has presented very few issues, the only other one I've had is ink level messages, and wrong ink messages, but I soon learned how to deal with these.

I did see on tutorials that printer counter isues would occur, and the youtuber said they are easy to get fixed, by taking your printer in to a dealer to have the counter reset. etc.
I just thought that maybe a fellow forum user maybe have had experience that they could pass on.

Isn't this a generic problem? don't all printers have a print head counter? ...please excuse my inexperience & ignorance.

I will call the supplier and hopefully be able to get answers today.

Thanks again for your response.

This issue ha now been solved, and with the relevant information it was surprisingly easy, even for a technophobe like me. Thank you so much for the person that read my plea, and emailed me with info that lead to the resolution. If anyone else experiences the same, with the Epson XP225, or any other printer, then feel free to inbox me and I can point you in the right direction.

Does this need to be a mystery? May be useful for any other members searching later to see a resolution.

Its not something I have ever encountered on my Ricoh's, so it certainly isn't generic.

Glad you got it sorted.

Justin, No its not a mystery, I just didn't want to be rude and post links to businesses on here, but if its ok?

James 990, I did google it, lots of info on how to remedy the issue, but you still need a product key, available only to the trade. and info about how/why it happned.

Socialgiraffe, Ricoh printers have an accessible & removable waste tank so I believe? therefore the issue of waste pads filling up, and the counter notifying you doesn't arise, so I believe.

Thanks all
