Someone asks for shirts with some vinyl lettering onthe front - just a couple of words on 2 lines.

So, what font do you 'normally' use? Font like Arial are too thin, so you start looking through other installed fonts .....

So what font would you generally use?

i don't use any in particular. I always just look at what the customer is needing and then see what looks best.

Never had any complaints - yet!!!

Me too, I have a t shirt printed with various fonts on and also a list as I think it makes the choice easier for them rather than trying to visualise.
Most people just look at me blankly when I as "what font would you like?"

What about Arial black, that's quite a fat font.

We use Arial Black a fair amount. Generally we weigh up what the customer wants and ask if there is a particular style they like. If not and they have no idea then we tend to go for something simple and simple to cut/weed like Arial Black. At least that way we know what font we used when they return for more. Nothing more annoying than that!

I have a few faves that I tend to stick to. I used to show the customer a quick mock up with a few sample fonts. try not to give them too much choice, it'll only cause confusion!

I have a t shirt made up with font samples and colours using the same words over and over down the t shirt, works quite well.
