Re: Looking for foam or other solution to prevent transfer paper lines

Post by Resinman »

After heat pressing I can see the lines of the transfer paper in the sublimation t-shirt. I've lowered the pressure but the lines are still there. I've read that foam can prevent this problem. Unfortunately the vapor foam kit isn't sold in Europe.

What I'm looking for is a mat or foam that is a little smaller than A4 and A3 or something that I can cut myself.

Any tips are welcome!

I do believe that if you tear the edges first that may help. I think there is a post on hear about it somewhere. Try using the search bar and see what pops up.
Many thanks
Iain

Equipment used A4 Ricoh printer, HP3085 Heat Press Graphtec cutter, Jarin mug press, CJV 30-60 solvent printer and lots of help from DSF.

Tear endges in uneven pattern , you dont need a lot of pressure but to avoid ghosting spray the material / shirt with a removable glue . I use 3m removable and low pressure no ghosting using this method.

I can't find teflon pillows which are a little smaller than A4 and A3. Is it possible to make my own teflon pillows?

Probably, but I would suggest you get hold of one first to see how they are made.

The small pillow is too small. The dimensions I'm looking for are a little smaller than:

A4: 8.3 x 11.7 in (210 x 297 mm)
A3: 11.7 x 16.5 in (297 x 420 mm)

I don't think there are pillows with these dimensions so I'm looking for foam which I can cut myself.

The foam used to be available from various suppliers in Germany, I bought my last lot about 12 months ago, can't remember the name of the company though.

According to Vapor support the kit was never sold in the UK or EU. Are you sure it was the Vapor Foam Kit? Or was it a different brand?
