Anyone pressed vinyl onto these?
Re: Anyone pressed vinyl onto these?
Hi, has anyone ever pressed vinyl onto these, glitterflex at that. http://www.btcactivewear.co.uk/store/in ... spc=SH7667
We did a test but found it left scorch marks around the area we had slightly raised up. We are not 100% sure where the glitterflex came from but we think it was MDP. They say on their website to press at 180 for 20 seconds (silver glitterflex)
Anybody have any advice on what they would try?
Thanks

Re: Anyone pressed vinyl onto these?
The BTC site only says they are for screen printing embroidery and transfer printing not vinyl.
Many thanks

I've seen that before on a few things and got away with it, thought I would try. I guess I will just try some transfers on them. What kind of transfers would you personally try?Quinsfan;112660 wrote:The BTC site only says they are for screen printing embroidery and transfer printing not vinyl.
Re: Anyone pressed vinyl onto these?
It was clothing vinyl I tried too. Tested both glitterflex and some red clothing vinyl at the same time, still leaves scorch/burn marks on the bag.ArferMo;112664 wrote:Soooo..... use clothing vinyl.
Re: Anyone pressed vinyl onto these?
Have you checked your press temp.... you won't get a mark with a 3 second pressing.
Re: Anyone pressed vinyl onto these?
It's a 20 second press at 180 according to MDP for silver glitterflex.
Re: Anyone pressed vinyl onto these?
Ah yes forgot you were using glitterflex, I'll go back to sleep
Re: Anyone pressed vinyl onto these?
Do you suggest any specific transfers to try on them, since it suggests transfers...ArferMo;112672 wrote:Ah yes forgot you were using glitterflex, I'll go back to sleep
Re: Anyone pressed vinyl onto these?
Try a lower temp vinyl, it will be the temperature causing the mark along with the pressure not the vinyl. Could try a t shirt or other material between press and item to reduce temperature shock first and as arfermo says check your surface temp all over with a gun
