Re: BMS Strait Mug not fitting in Adkins press

Just testing BMS Strait mugs, 76mm dameter, and they do not fit into my Adkins mug press, either the standard or the small element.

Does anyone here use these mugs? and if so, what press do you use.

Currently testing with a silicone sheet over the mug. It works OK but temperature increased to 230 degrees and time to 300 seconds.
The mugs are good quality. Initially bought as an alternative to the Windsor mug but did not read the description so thought they were Bone China, but are listed as Fine China.

I would hazard a guess that you may need a porcelain/smug element (one for smaller diameter mugs).

Thanks, but already have the smaller element. The mug is too tight in this. It does work fine for the Windsor mugs at 70mm diameter. The 'Strait' mugs are 76mm and just too tight.
