Re: Epson 1500w - and inks...recommendations please

Post by Kubicixfactor »

So I've got my press (Adkins BM20, great!) and I'm looking for a mug press...and I also need a printer. I'm a photographer (so this is quite low volume) and I'm reliably advised to go for the Epson 1500w (rather than an A3 Ricoh).
So if i get a 1500w with a CISS, where's the best place to buy the inks? And is there a recommendation for the CISS as well? Grateful for any advice :)

Hello, I have the 1500W and use Sawgrass ArTainium ink, you can get it almost everywhere. As for the CISS, I got mine from Creadhesif.com (french website). CISS with 6x100ml did cost me €400 (now it costs €500, dunno why).

Never used them but I've heard they are reliable, unlike most Chinese inks. But as far as I know, the 1500W is not supported by Inktec, meaning it may work but they will not provide ICC profile. I think you can also buy Cobra inks for 1500W and they provide ICC profile.

I use inktec and ciss with 1500w, and it's been very good. I do my own profiles. Paul on here does profiles so he could sort you out that way.

Thanks for replies, really helpful.
so what's the difference between Inktec and Artainium inks? The cost difference is a lot? I'm printing photos.

couldn't tell, never used Inktec, difference should be skin tones that depend on associated ICC profiles

ArTainium: €480 for 6x125ml (3.84€/ml)
Inktec: €95 for 6x100ml (0.95€/ml)
