Re: Pricing & Margins - A rule of thumb?

Post by SSPLTD »

We're prominently digital printers (large and small format) as well as producing vehicle graphics, and whilst not the cheapest printer in town, have established a nice client base. We use Clarity to work our prices, and generate quotes, and it doesn't quite work with the DyeSub set up.

Is there a rule of thumb when pricing (it's been a long time since I manually priced anything)

Obviously substrate costs
Transfer paper cost
Ink cost
time to press.

Using the same markup we do on our other print items, the dyesub seem's to come out really expensive, although to be fair the substrate costs are higher.

Any pointers on how to go about pricing.

Thanks in advance.

your price will depend on YOUR place in the market .......
are you a box shifter ?
or can you offer genuine support - training, technical, aftersale ......
Price, service, quality - pick any 2 ......

if you get over 66% of the jobs you quote for, - your prices are too low!
