Printing on jigsaw lid

I have just sublimated a jigsaw, which turned out very good but I'd like to print the photo direct on to the lid. Has anybody printed directly in to a box, is this possible?

print onto a self adhesive paper and stick on. Box printing is pretty hard unless its a flat box even then registration is really hard. Also unless the box is a coated type then the colours wont be good. I have a client printing boxes for beer for loads of micro brewerys on Epson surecolours (he has 5 of them) but he prints onto flat board and then punches the box out with a large press.
