Shrink Wrap Bags or Machine Ideas Please

Does anyone use shrink wrap bags for their products (or some kind of machine) when sending out in bulk? When we send out a pack of say 10 coasters we would like to seal them together or to wrap a printed license plate so it doesn't scratch until bought. I have just opened a bag of 10 blank fabric coasters and after printing we would really like to have a way to re-package them like they arrived to us. Ideas?

I used one of these for several years to repack table mats, coasters etc. Rolls are pre folded and very easy to use, think mine was 1500m long so not going to run out for a while. Using the heat gun takes a bit of practice to prevent holes but again easy to do. I use Polyolefin rather than PVC.

Thank you. We do have a heat sealer and didn't realise this could be used. So I guess you seal the item in the film using the heat sealer and then use heat gun to shrink it down. Great, will go check out blowers and also that film you mention.

Shrink wrap is the ideal solution

Although in the past I have used stretch wrap for small items, with out too much "stretch"

A couple of tips...

Seal the bag fairly close to the item and tear away rest of roll from other side of sealer (arm still down) as soon as timer finishes, easy to do as it is still hot.

If wrapping a tablemat, stand mat upright with cork side toward you, use left/right motion to shrink and finish with a trip round the border. This shrinks most of the excess at the rear of the mat, pulls the bag seams away from the mat edge and stretches the front. Keep moving or else you will create a hole. turn mat over and do the same on the front to finish.

If done properly you will probably end up with a sealed bag with air inside that acts as a pillow, I just release this with a scalpel and stack mats to force the air out.

The shrink rolls are pre folded so use the roll width to determine what size you need. A system as shown above is ideal as it also provides a working platform, rollers for the roll - vital as these are very heavy, and a simple feed path.

Thank you everyone for some super advice. Having got a heat sealer already then we just need a heat blower (better than normal hair dryer), some roll and perhaps a stand for the roll. Here is the page of parts in case anyone else is interested:

Shrink wrappers have rollers that put tiny holes in the film so the air has somewhere to get out of the bag
